Abstract
PURPOSE:To compensate the fall of a deflector with a compact constitution, by adding a scan optical system including a single spherical lens and a single lens having a toric surface from the side of a deflector between a medium to be scanned and the deflector. CONSTITUTION:The luminous flux given from a light source device 1 forms an image linearly at the area near the reflective surface 3a of a deflector 3 through a linear image forming system 2. A single spherical lens 4 plus a single lens 5 having a toric surface including a main and secondary axes having different refractive powers in the two orthogonal directions are provided between the deflector 3 and a medium 6 to be scanned. According to the rotary movement of the deflector 3, the reflected luminous flux is deflected to be formed into an image on the medium 6 through a synthetic system of the lenses 4 and 5. In this case, the surface 3a tilts in the direction vertical to the deflecting surface while the deflector 3 is turning and is changed to a position 3a'. Even in such case, the image forming position has no change on the medium 6 althrough the luminous flux passing through the lens systems 4 and 5 has a change as shown by the dotted lines.
