Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively check a weak electric field characteristic, by detecting that the error rate of a frame synchronizing signal is greater than a preset value, and displaying both error rates for a pseudo noise signal and a frame synchronizing signal. CONSTITUTION:An error rate measuring section of a TV receiver consists of an n-bit pickup gate 15, a comparing pseudo noise (PN) signal generating circuit 16, a comparison circuit 17, full pulse and error counters 18 and 19, a display circuit 20, a vertical counter 21 and a framing code FC counter 22. A vertical synchronizing pulse is counted at the counter 21 and the number of an FC signal is counted and they are displayed on a display circuit 23. An output difference of the counters 21 and 22 is compared at a difference comparison circuit 24 and if the error rate of the FC signal is much. the counting of the counter 19 is stopped. The error rate of the FC signal is displayed on the display circuit 20, allowing to check a weak electric field characteristic effectively together with the display of the error rate of the FC signal.
