Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform stable operation without generating an erroneous detection signal by counting the frequency of an increase in a phase difference between a BCO (burst control oscillation) output and an input burst during vertical synchronism, and by generating a detection pulse as a PAL identity signal when the counted frequency is higher than an expected one. CONSTITUTION:An H pulse generating circuit 34 for sample holding type PAL which responds to a separated horizontal pulse is provided. During vertical synchronism, the frequency of an increase in phase difference between a BCO output and an input is counted and when the frequency is higher than an expected one, a detection pulse is generated and the output of OR between the detection pulse and an H pulse is employed as a clock pulse for a toggle FF, whose output is regarded as a PAL identity signal. Consequently, the frequency of an oscillator having the oscillation frequency FH of the circuit 34 is controlled and even if a horizontal separated pulse drops out, a DC level before the dropout is held, so the horizontal pulse 35 of a flywheel has no disorder of its period.
