Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve and maintain high digestion performance with assurance of a constant concn. of digestion sludge in an anaerobic digestion tank using methane bacteria in said tank by subjecting the sludge withdrawn from said tank to mechanical solid-liquid separation and returning the digestion sludge into the digestion tank.
CONSTITUTION: Crude sludge 3 is forcibly fed into a mixer 11 where it is mixed with the mixed digestion liquid withdrawn from the 1st digestion tank 1, and is inoculatd with methane bacteria, after which it is sprayed and injected from the bottom part of the tank 1 through a heater 13. The inoculated and mixed liquid swirls in the tank 1 and contacts with anaerobic bacteria, by which it is decomposed. The digestion gas (methane) is withdrawn to the outside through a gas take-out pipe 14. The digested and mixed liquid after the decomposition is fed via the 2nd digestion tank 2 to a centrifugal separator 19, where it is separated to thick digestion sludge and liquid contg. suspended solids. The concd. digestion sludge passes through a deaerator 23, where it is removed of the absorbed air and foam, after which it is forcibly fed into the mixer 11, where it is mixed thoroughly with the crude sludge and the digested liquid mixture.
