Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction, by detecting a data code such as multiplexed characters in a video signal of a television, storing it temporarily, and discriminating and reading out the data code as effective only when noise included in the video signal is not detected. CONSTITUTION:When a video signal is inputted, a multiplexed data code is detected at a data code detecting circuit 1, the content is temporarily stored in a storage circuit 3 and given to a data code discrimination circuit 5. On the other hand, a vertical synchronizing pulse of the video signal is picked up at a vertical synchronism pickup circuit and applied to the discrimination circuit 5. The circuit 5 detects if the content of the data code to be read out with a data output instruction signal C from a controller is distorted with noise, and when the data code is suitable, a data output instruction signal is transmitted to the storage circuit 3 to read out the data code. If the data code is distorted with noise and not suitable, no readout signal is transmitted and the data code in the storage circuit 3 is made ineffective.
