Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect and correct the errors that are caused at one time to both the primary data and the alternate data of a storage element, by providing plural storage elements. CONSTITUTION:A storage element in which >=2 data pits correspond to an address is provided in plural numbers. Then inverters 61-65 and 71-75 are added to store the genuine information in either one of the 2 pits; and the inverted complementary information is stored in the other pit via the inverters 61-65. In the reading mode, the genuine information receives a parity check through a parity checking circuit 2 of the primary side, and the complementary information receives a parity check through a parity checking circuit 3 of the alternate side via the inverters 71-75 respectively. Based on the result of these checks, an alternate data is delivered in case an error is detected by the circuit 2 through output terminals DO1-DO2 and via a flip-flop 4 and multiplexers 51-55. While a primary data is delivered when an error is detected through the circuit 3.
