When an operator operates a setting button for some editing program, the system controller 16 finds the size of recording paper suitable to the execution of the editing program to supply a size specifying signal SCS to a paper feed controller 19, and also makes one of driving circuits 181-184 send a driving command to drive one of paper feed rollers 141-144, thereby feeding recording paper of the specified size to resist rollers 12 selectively. In this case, when the recording paper of the specified size is not in paper feed cassettes 131-134, a warning is sent out, so that rapid handling is performed.
