Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify structure of a reader to make it small-size and light-weight, by printing the bar-code in a conductive ink.
CONSTITUTION: Arbitrary information is converted to a width of the bar and is printed as bar-code 1 in a conductive ink. Meanwhile, reader 2 has electrodes 4 and 5 insulated from each other, and lead lines 4' and 5' are pulled out from electrodes 4 and 5 respectively and are led to the detecting circuit. In this constitution, when electrodes 4 and 5 are slided on bar-code 1 in a constant speed, the output of the detecting circuit is high and low repeatedly to obtain the electric output corresponding to the width of the bar-code. As a result, the reader has a very simple structure in comparision with the optical reader and is made small-size and light-weight; and further, since it is cheap and solid, it is most suitable for the pen of the hand scanning system.
