Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a transducer providing an accurate acoustic matching layer, by providing an acoustic matching member at a sound radiation plane of a piezoelectric ceramic and bonding a sound wave absorbing member at the back. CONSTITUTION:Acoustic matching member 4 is polished to form the matching layer with accurate wave length of lambda/4 at the sound radiation plane of a piezoelectric ceramic 2. Next, an electrode 1 is added and further, an acoustic absorbing member 3 is bonded, Next, a plurality of unit oscillating elements are formed by cutting the matching member 4 and a piezoelectric ceramic 2. With this method, the transducer providing accurate lambda/4 matching layer can easily be manufactured.
