Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the influence dependent upon torsion of the signal cable, by making two optical fibers opposite to each other through a rod lens and by providing two feeding coils and a means, which is so fixed that these coils may be rotated in directions opposite to each other, above and below these opposite faces. CONSTITUTION:For example, optical submarine cable 1 consists of optical fiber 2, insulating material 11, feeding material 3, an insulating material, and an armoring wire which are arranged concentrically. End parts of optical fibers 2 are opposite to each other through rod lens 7, and metal sleeve 5 and guide sleeve 6 are mounted around them. These optical fibers 2 can be rotated freely. Silicone resin matching oil 17 is filled in the gap among optical fibers 2, rod lens 7, and so on. The gap of the rotation part is waterproof by 0 ring 21 and so on. When a low-frequency AC current is given to transformer coils 16 and 16', cables 1 and 1' rotate in directions opposite to each other. As a result, the influence dependent upon torsion of optical submarine cable 1 can be prevented.
