Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the steady input to the computer by securing the selection for the picture signal sent from the transmission side as the FAX output or the OCR input. CONSTITUTION:The FAX signals sent from FAX transmission parts 11, 12 and 13 are sent to data MODEM41, 42 and 43 via transmission lines 21, 22 and 23 each. The received FAX signals are supplied to matrix switch 5 and mode designation/signal detection circuit 6 each. At the transmission side, the mode designation signal is included into the transmission signal. The designated mode (FAX or OCR mode) is detected, and then switch 5 is controlled by the detection signal. And in the case of the FAX mode, the output of switch 5 is delivered to decoder 11 and then supplied to OCR12. Only the character component is cut out at OCR12 and then supplied to computer 13. In this way, the computer input can be facilitated.
