Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain electric energy utilizing the difference between the ebb and flow of the tide by providing a seawater take-in port and a drain port each having a sluice valve in a main tide preventing bank and inserting a water wheel containing a power generating device in the drain port.
CONSTITUTION: A seawater take-in port 8 and a discharge port 6 having sluice valves 3 and 4 respectively are provided in a main tide preventing bank 2, and a water wheel 7 containing a power generating device is inserted in the water exhaust port 6 and a side tide preventing bank 2 is attached at the several meters inner side of the main tide preventing bank 2. When the sluice valve 3 is opened at the at the high tide, seawater passes through the seawater take-in port 8 and flows in the inner side of the tide preventing bank, and becomes to assume the same water level as that at the bigh tide. When the sluice valve 4 is opened at the low tide, the seawater 5 passes through the seawater exhaust port 6 and blows in the outside. Upon this occasion, the water wheel 7 rotates by the force of the exhaust water, and hence electric energy can be obtained.
