Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce an overload detecting ring of a ring type overload preventing device in producing said ring, by first forming the ring part, then working the opposite linear inside end faces of the ring part at 9 predetermined spacing thence piercing the connecting holes in the projecting parts of the connecting members.
CONSTITUTION: A steel pipe of a predetermined thickness which has been cut to a torus of predetermined width is cut to a pair of half torus-shaped members 2a, 2b by a milling machine. The respective side faces of both ends projecting to opposite direction 8a, 8b and 4a, 4b of a pair of T-shaped connecting members 3, 4 formed by a steel material are welded and coupled to respectively opposite cut faces 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f, to form a ring part 2 of an elliptical shape. Next, the opposing linear inside end faces of the ring part 2 are worked to a predetermined spacing by a milling machine or the like, after which connecting holes 3a, 4a are pierced with a drilling machine to the projecting parts of a pair of the connecting members 3, 4, and this completes the manufacture of an overload detecting ring 5.
