Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the contrast of boundaries of an image, by using the lens of chromatic aberration to focus the permeating light and the reflection light of a recording medium having metallic luster to a photoelectric conversion element.
CONSTITUTION: The light emitted from visible light source 10 is incident onto the reverse face of laser direct recording film 13 moving in the direction vertical to the paper surface to generate a negative image dependent upon the visible light. Meanwhile, the light emitted from infrared light source 14 is reflected by half- mirror 17 and illuminates the surface of LDF13. This infrared light is reflected by a metallic thin film layer to form a positive image. These both images are synthesized through projection lens 18 on the photodetection face of photoelectric conversion element 19 and are subjected to photoelectric conversion. A lens of chromatic aberration is used as this lens 18, and the focus is adjusted by the visible light. Consequently, the negative image is in focus, and the positive image is out of focus, and the contrast around dots is emphasized by synthesizing them.
