Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the mechanical seal ring with no pressure leakage wherein, on a ring like ferrous substrate meterial having an annular protruded part on a recessed part, a ring like WC type infiltration substrate having a recessed part and a protruded part inlaid therein is firmly adhered through an Ni-P alloy.
CONSTITUTION: On the ring like ferrous substrate material 2 having the annular protruded part or the recessed part the ring like WC type infiltration substrate having the recessed part and the protruded part inlaid therein is closely adhered through the Ni-P alloy 3 to form the mechanical seal ring. As an aforementioned ferrous type substrate material, a general purpose steel or a special steel such as a tool steel or a stainless steel is used. Moreover, as the WC type infiltration substrate, is used one wherein a ferrous metal such as Fe, Co or Ni is mixed with WC and, after sintered temporarily, an Ni-12% P alloy is infiltrated.
