PURPOSE:To utilize a storage device effectively by collectively storing and holding in a memory centralized type facsimile storage converter a picture signal until the next calling or picture transmission to a terminal after the terminal is found busy. CONSTITUTION:When a transmission request is sent out of calling-side facsimile terminal device 6, the 2nd storage conversion central controller 1' receives a facsimile signal from facsimile trnsmission-reception controller 5 and stores it in picture signal storage device 4 of terminal-corresponding facsimile storage converter part B. After the storage, storage conversion central controller 1' checks the state of party- subscriber's facsimile terminal device 6' at the incoming side; when it is free, transmission operation is started as it is and when busy, the corresponding picture signal is transferred to and stored via picture signal storage devices 3'' and 3' in picture signal storage unit 2 of memory centralized type facsimile storage converter part A via signal transfer device 3'' and 3' while the picture signal in picture signal storage device 4 is discarded.
