Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition, giving a molded product with good mechanical properties and heat resistance, and having excellent transparency and flame retardancy, which comprises a specified organopolysiloxane, a silica filler, platinum, a fatty acid, a triazol compound and an organic peroxide.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. of a straight-chain organopolysiloxane of the formula [wherein R is an (un)substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; a is 1.95W 2.05] are compounded with (B) 10W150pts.wt. of a finely divided silica filler of particle size ≤50μ and of specific surface area ≥100m2/g, (C) 2W200ppm, calculated as platinum, based on component (A), of a fine platinum powder or a platinum compound such as chloroplatinic acid, (D) 0.05W3pts.wt. of a 10C or higher batty acid (metal salt) such as lauric acid (Mg salt) or stearic acid (Ca salt), (E) 0W1pt.wt. of a triazole compound such as 1-methyl-1,2,3-triazole or 1-methylbenzotriazole, and (F) 0.1W5pts.wt. of an organic peroxide such as benzoyl peroxide.
