Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve accurate and efficient detection of the noise source in the combination of a superdirectional microphone and four superdirectional microphones arranged in point symmetry. CONSTITUTION:Noise from the noise source S is received by the measuring section 10 in which are arranged the super directional microphone 11' coaxial to the axis of the arm 7, microphones 12b and 12d in point symmetry to the travelling direction of the arm 7 with respect to the microphone 11' and microphones 12a and 12c in point symmetry parpendicular to the micorphones 12b and 12d, and then, processed by amplifiers 14 and 15a-15d of the signal processing device 11 and the integraters 16 and 17a-17d. The movement deciding section 18 compares the sound pressure detected of the microphones 11', 12a and 12c to maximize the sound pressure from the microphone 11'. In addition, the swing and the travelling of the arm 7 is feedback controlled through the control section 13 to maximize the sound pressure in comparison of the sound pressures detected from the microphones 11', 12b and 12d. Accordingly, the microphone 11' can face the sound source S accurately and efficiently thereby allowing the detection of the noise source.
