Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a sleeve for an impregnated cathode, by adhering a brazing material on one of sides of a thin plate, rolling the thin plate into a cylindrical shape and then heating the one of the sides of the plate, to which side the brazing material is applied. CONSTITUTION:A material (Mo, Ta, W, or the like), which will form a sleeve for a cathode to be used at high temperatures, is provided as thin plates of a desired size. The thin plates 1 are then superposed in a mutually displaced manner. These plates are vacuum-deposited with a brazing material such as Mo-Ru eutectic alloy and the brazing material 2 is applied onto one of sides of the thin plate 1. After thus-processed thin plates are rolled into a cylindrical shape, portions applied with the brazing material are heated to braze the plates 1.
