Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate higher mode resosnance to improve performance, by providing a metallic plate in the space where a ferrimagnetic material is not provided in a square waveguide. CONSTITUTION:Thin metallic plate 7 is inserted in parallel with upper and lower walls of waveguide 1 and in the position of the approximately half height of the waveguide in the space where ferrimagnetic material 2 is not provided in square waveguide 1. By this constitution, higher mode resistance can be eliminated because metallic plate 7 reduces the height of the waveguide to the approximate half equivalently. In case that the effect is not sufficient due to the height of the waveguide, plural metallic plates 7 are inserted. Thus, higher mode resonance can be eliminated to improve performance without degradation of characteristics such as insertion loss, the phase shift extent, and used electric power.
