Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive the increase in the applied voltage of th pulse laser diode driving circuit and the improvement in the efficiency thereof by connecting the base and the emitter of a switching transistor by an inductor. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 2 is charged by a voltage VH through a resistor 7 and a diode 5, and stored charge of the capacitor 2 is supplied to the laser diode 3 through the switching operation of the transistor 1 formed with the inductor 10 between the base and the emitter thereof. In this configuration the base and the emitter of the transistor is shortcircuited in DC and is high impedance in AC. Accordingly, in case that there is no trigger pulse 9 thereat, it is raised to collector maximum allowable voltage, and when the trigger pulse is inputted through the capacitor 6, the leakage from the base to the emitter is reduced to obtain sufficient base current. Therefore, the impedance between the collector and the emitter of the transistor is lowered at the time of ON so as to lower the impedance of the discharging loop. Thus, there can drive a pulse laser diode stably and efficiently.
