Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the number of cables and maximize the data transfer capacity, by preparing five pieces of request lines to perform the transfer of the synchronous data by use of the data bus and then showing the contents of the information on the data bus. CONSTITUTION:The data transfer among information processors 2-5 is carried out by the control of transfer control unit 1 and via data bus 6 plus the 1st-5th request lines 7-11 each. The period during which the data is transferred bus 6 is defined as one time slot, and plural numbers of time slots (channels) are allotted to processors 2-5. The heat time slot of the channel allotted to each processor is used for the time slot for start information to be sent to the corresponding information processor via the 1st request line. The request signals for the reading and writing of the data, the data transfer end indication, the state reporting and others are transmitted in synchronization with the 1st clock and via the 2nd- 5th request lines. As a result, no collision occurs between the state information report and the start information to secure a multiplex operation for several processors. Thus the data transfer capacity can be greatly increased.
