Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a centralized monitoring device by detecting the occurence of a fault from the signal state of an answer line to a monitoring terminal at a receiver side and by displaying the state of the detected fault. CONSTITUTION:A call line Lc, answer line La and common line Lo connected to a receiver 10 in a center connect with a repeater 12, to which a state detector 13 is connected. This detector 13 and repeater 12 constitute a monitoring terminal and monitoring terminals are connected to the lines Lo-Lc, thus constituting a centralized monitoring device. Then, the clock generator 18 of the receiver 10 calls those monitoring terminals in every prescribed cycle in time-division mode successively and a state signal sent to the line La in response to the calling of the repeater 12 is received by a discriminating circuit 19 and a fault discriminating circuit 23. If the state signal is obained in the period when the monitoring terminal does not send the state signal once provided in the call cycle, the circuit 23 generates the output which shows the discrimination of the generation of a fault, thereby displaying the fault through a fault outputting circuit 24.
