Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the resetting by generating diagnostic signal and a resetting signal for the diagnostic device for the electronic control apparatus by the ON and OFF control of a power source circuit of an engine starter. CONSTITUTION:An actuating signal of a vehicle control device 1 is applied to the electronic control circuit 3 as a control signal a. When the signal a indicates an abnormal state, an output circuit 4 generates an output signal b, and it is applied to a self-holding circuit 5. The signal b is utilized for failure indication, generation of warning, and the like. An engine switch 8 is provided with a contactor 9 whose one end is connected to a power source VB and four terminals o, p, q, and r. The terminals p, q, and r are connected to an accessory circuit ACC, an ignition circuit IG, and the engine starter ST, respectively. The terminal r is further connected to a diagnostic signal generator 10. After the engine has been started, the actuation of a device 2 has been acknowledged, and the contactor 9 has been disconnected from the terminal r, the voltage supply to the self-holding circuit is interrupted, and the resetting is accomplished.
