Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the bit rate of a record signal and thus reduce the quantity of consuming tape, by dividing the data equivalent to a horizontal line into 2n units of blocks and distributing the two blocks among said blocks to each channel to record.
CONSTITUTION: A digital video signal supplied from a digital video processor DVP-1 and a clock pulse are supplied to a video interface of the processor DVP-2 to subject a time-division process. On the other hand, (n) units of rotary heads are provided to the VTRs 3 and 4 to be used for the video signal. In case the digital video signals are distributed to (n) channels, the video signal data equivalent to a horizontal line are divided into 2n units of blocks to be then distributed to each channel with every two blocks.
