Abstract

PURPOSE: An antiulcerative that contains a specific fatty acid or its derivative as an active principle, thus especially being effective on aspirin ulcer.
CONSTITUTION: The objective antiulcerative contains at least one selected from 10W20C saturated or unsaturated and straight-chain or branched chain fatty acids and their derivatives. Especially a 12W15C saturated fatty acid such as myristic acid is preferred. A free acid shows higher activity than its derivative. For example, myristic acid remarkably reduces the ulcer index in aspirkn ulcer, however, it is not effective on histamine ulcer. Further, it inhibits the pepsin activity, however, scarcely inhibits the hystidinedecarboxylase activity. Since these fatty acids are included in food in much quantities, their toxicity is through very low. It is preferably given orally, intramuscularly or rectally. The dose is preferably 1W10g/ day/man.
