Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A dibaenzo[b,e]oxepin derivative of formula I (R1 is methyl, ethyl, methoxy, etc.) or an acid addition salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 2-Ethyl-11-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-6,11-dihydrodibenzo[b,e]oxepin.
USE: An antiasthmatic agent.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II (Z is halogen) is reduced by the catalytic hydrogenation, etc. to give a compound of formula III, which is then reacted with a halogenating agent to afford a compound of formula IV. The resultant compound of formula IV is further reacted with an amine or formula V in an inert solvent, e.g. benzene, at -10W120°C for 30min to 3hr to give the compound of formula I.
