Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase greatly the range of measurement, by adding a magnetic field compensating coil and then applying the current to the said coil to cancel an external magnetic field which is caused to the core. CONSTITUTION:Both the drive coil 2 and the sensor coil 3 are wound around a ring-shaped core 1, and furthermore the magnetic field compensating coil 4 is wound in the same direction as each coil. Then the AC current is applied to the coil 2 by the oscillator 5, and the output of the coil 2 is applied to the current control circuit 9 via the amplifier 6, BPF7 and amplifier 8. The output of the circuit 9 is applied to the coil 4 to generate the magnetic field in the direction where an external magnetic field of the core 1 is canceled. At the same time, the current value of the coil 4 is read through the meter 11 to measure the magnetic field intensity. With addition of such coil 4, the saturation is avoided for the core 1 to increase greatly the range of measurement.
