PURPOSE: To correct a torch angle accurately and rapidly, by causing position coordinates of the torch tip part to coincide with the moving locus and by changing position coordinates of the sliding part according to correction of the angle.
CONSTITUTION: Wrist part 6 of the robot main body is took, and the moving locus on work 22 is indicated by teaching roller 10 and is stored in memory unit 12. In respect to correction of the torch angle of welding torch 7, joy stick 26 is slided and operated in the direction corresponding to the torch angle of welding torch 7. This slide-operated position is detected by potentiometer 27, and the torch angle is detected by angle detecting circuit 31 and is applied to control circuit 14 through A/D converter 32 and shift register 33. Robot driving mechanism 17 is driven by this detection signal, and wrist part 6 is corrected, and the torch angle of welding torch 7 is corrected according to the slide operation of joy stick 26. Since position coordinates of the torch tip part are caused to coincide with slide locus 23, position coordinates of the torch sliding part are changed.
