Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the fuel consumption by making the air fuel mixing ratio of a carbureter of an outboard engine variable by a variable throttle valve, and decreasing the mixing ratio upon a constant speed navigation and increasing the mixing ratio upon high load navigation.
CONSTITUTION: The air fuel mixing ratio is made variable by opening and closing an air bleed passageway 14 by means of a variable throttle valve 17. The variable throttle valve 17 is operated by throttle valve operating means 18 which opens the air bleed passage 14 in a state where the vessel reaches constant speed navigation by throttle valve opening means 18 which opens the air bleed passage 14, and the valve operating means 18 is constituted by a manual switch (not shown) and a solenoid 22 which opens the throttle valve 17 by the closure of the switch. By releasing means (not shown) which operates in linkage with the throttling operation upon regulating the speed, the open state of the throttle valve 17 is automatically released. By this procedure, the mixing ratio can be decreased upon the constant speed navigation and the fuel consumption can be reduced.
