Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption amount of electric power by controlling the supply of electric power to a control circuit and a driving means, by means of a select signal, in case of driving a floppy disk unit. CONSTITUTION:As for the swith circuit 4 consisting of switches 4a, 4b, its state of on and off is controlled by a select signal for giving a command to the recording medium as to transmission and receiving of information, and at the time of on state, the electric power source P1 for control is supplied to the control circuit 5, and also the electic power source P2 for driving is supplied to both the driving part 7 and the driver 6. And, the step motor 7a rotates when a signal A has been provided to the control circuit 5. Also, the driving motor 7b for driving the recording medium rotates when the switch circuit 4 has been turned on.
