Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce consuming electric power by a method wherein in the end plate of a fixed scroll are provided a radially-extending hole and connecting holes for both said hole and a compression chamber, a flow-controlling element is inserted movably into the radially-extending hole and gas is bypassed to the suction side.
CONSTITUTION: In the end plate 5 of the fixed scroll 4 is provided the radially- extending hole 9 and this hole 9 is connected with a compression chamber 10 and a suction chamber 11 through the connecting holes 12. Moreover, in the hole 9 is inserted movably the columnar flow-controlling element 13 having a notched groove 13a in the middle as illustrated. When the revolving scrowl 1 makes revolution and compression, the flow-controlling element 13 is revolved and is let to slide and the connecting holes 12 are connected with each other through the notched groove 13a. The gas in the compression chamber 10 flows through the course of connecting hole 12 → notched groove 13a → connecting hole 12 → suction chamber 11. Thus, before gas is compressed beyond necessity, it is bypassed to the suction side and it is possible to remove unnecessary power consumption.
