Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an equal and even developer thin layer on the surface of the deve lopment material supporting member, by providing a concave and convex part along the carrying direction of the development material supporting member on its surface. CONSTITUTION:A toner 10 is stored in the hopper 7a, and it is drawn closer onto the sleeve 6. As for the toner on the sleeve, charge is provided by friction against the sleeve, which is caused by rotation of the sleeve. In this regard, in case when the surface of the sleeve has been smooth heretofore, a toner coagulates magnetically and becomes a large coagulation lump in the toner recevoir of the magnetic blade 1a upstream side against the advancing direction of the sleeve 2, and this lump protrudes from the blade 1a, collects in the part A, and causes an uneven application. When toner coating is performed by use of a sleeve having concave and convex parts in the circumferential direction, however, such an uneven application due to protrusion of a toner is not caused.
