Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the starting performance of a diesel engine of the type having an intake shutter in its intake passage, by feeding a sufficient amount of intake air at the time of starting the engine through provision of a means for decreasing restriction by said intake shutter at the time of starting engine.
CONSTITUTION: When a key switch 22 and a starter switch 28 are closed for starting an engine 1, it is cranked and a starting relay switch 23 is turned OFF through energization of a transistor 30. Therefore, a three-way solenoid valve 10 is not energized by the closing of an accelerator switch 24, which results in interruption of negative pressure from a vacuum tank 13. Further, since a vacuum chamber 8a of a power chamber 8 is communicated to the atmosphere through a vent hole 10a, an intake shutter 4 is kept at its fully opened position. Here, since a capacitor 31 is charged in the above stage, the intake shutter 4 is kept at the fully opened position for a predetermined while through discharging of the capacitor 31, even if the starter switch 28 is opened subsequently.
