Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to transmit and receive three-channel signals in a narrow frequency band by AM broadcast, by transmitting signals while shifting their phases by 2pi/3 respectively and by receiving these signals to demodulate them by phase. CONSTITUTION:The first, the second and the third signals different from one another are inputted by audible frequency amplifiers 2, 4 and 6 in the transmission side, and these signals have amplitudes modulated by 8, 10 and 12 respectively with the same frequency and are transmitted while their phases are shifted by 2pi/3 respectively. Meanwhile, the transmission signals are received by 24 in the receiving side and are amplified to high frequencies by 26 and are subjected to balanced demodulation in 38, 40 and 42 respectively to output the first, the second and the third signals. As a result, three-channel signals can be transmitted and received in a narrow frequecy band by AM broadcast.
