Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable equal intervals of recording trace of the control signals before and after the pause without adjustment, by holding the tape at pause after rewinding it for a given length and using the output of the frequency generator provided at the capstan for the control signal. CONSTITUTION:At the pause, the pressing condition is held without detaching the pinch roller from the capstan 18, the capstan motor 17 is reversed and after the tape is rewound for a given length, it is stopped. The capstan motor 17 is provided with the frequency generator and the detection signal performs the constant drive of capstan motor and rotary phase servo. Thus, the rising time of the tape drive system at pause release can be covered with the tape rewinding to enable to obtain constant tape speed for the joint of recording. Further, since the output of the frequency generator is used as the control signal, the intervals of the recording trace of the control signal are not changed at the joints of the pause before and after. Accordingly, the intervals can be kept constant without adjustement. Thus, reproduced picture is made stable.
