Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to use one digital circuit for both data and calls by switching by alternating a data signal of the digital circuit with a sound signal under the control of a terminal. CONSTITUTION:If there whould be need to call a party subscriber in data communication, key contact K1 is closed to activate octet-synchronous pattern generating circuit OG and is sent out to a digital circuit DL being given a control bit and synchronizing bit. AT an octet side, those control bit and synchronizing bit are received by octet synchronizer circuit OS and multi-octet synchronization is attained by the synchroizing bit while the control bit operates driver D to change alternation switches SR and SS over. At the subscriber side, similar switching operation is done to set a sound mode. Namely, a sound signal from telephone set TEL is digitized by A/D converter circuit A/D and then sent to the party side by way of circuit DL. Further, the signal sent from the party side is led to telephone set TEL by way of D/A converter circuit D/A.
