Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the degree of the generation of a flicker without lowering fidelity to an original pattern at the slight sacrifice of horizontal and vertical resolution, by adding small hardware without exerting any influence upon pattern generating algorithm.
CONSTITUTION: The output data of pattern generating part 1 is stored temporarily in digital picture memory 3 and after composition part 2 shifts relatively a horizontal even-dot picture and odd-dot screen vertically by one line, data for each horizontal line is applied to video amplifier 5 by way of LPF4 and then mixed with the output of synchronizing signal generator 6. Further, clock supply part 7, synchronizing with generator 6, supplies pattern generating part 1, picture memory 3 and composition part 2 with clocks driving their operations. Then, amplifier 5 outputs output video signal 8 of an NTSC reference TV signal with a reduced flicker while causing no deterioration in fidelity.
