Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a device wherein any of a linear voltage-decrease, a non-linear voltage-increase, and a non-linear voltage-decrease can be performed by connecting a switching element and a diode in series at the power supply side and the load side of an π circuit wherein an inductance element is provided in a series portion.
CONSTITUTION: The voltage from an input voltage source Ei is converted into a voltage E0 by a first and second switching elements S1 and S2, a first and second diodes D1 and D2, an inductance L, and a capacitor C, and the voltage E0 is supplied to a load RL. The conversion characteristic is given by E0/Ei=X1/(1-X2), where X1 and X2 are the duty ratios of the individual switching elements S1 and S2, and X1≥X2≥0. By adjusting the duty ratios X1 and X2, a linear voltage-decrease, a non-linear voltage-decrease, and a non-linear voltage-increase can be performed.
