Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure an economical and high-accuracy correction for the picture image distortion through the convergence correction by modulating in terms of the time the picture signals in accordance wiht the picture image distortion.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of the Braun tube, the correction of convergenece is carried out by varying the time-based positional relation of the picture signals as if the positional relation between the synchronous signals of the picture signals to modulate the elctron beams, i.e., the deflecting distortion were corrected. In case the time-based positional relation is shown by the equidistant white-line signal as indicated in Fig. (b), the picture signal as shown in Fig. (c) is produced by compressing or delayed the picture signals in terms of the time like the correction of the S-shaped distortion. Through modulation of the electron beam with the produced picture signal, the signal the deflecting distortion of which is corrected is obtained as shown in Fig. (d). In such way, the time-based compression and delay is given to the picture signal, and accordingly the correction is possible with a comparatively low voltage/current circuit to the picture signal current. As a result, the high-frequency adjustment can be facilitated.
