Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide sufficient contrast, ray transmittance and degree of polarization to the extent of being usable for display as well by adsorbing and orienting dichromatic dyes together with iodine on and to a polyvinyl alcohol base film.
CONSTITUTION: Iodine and dichromatic dyes are compounded referably at ratios of 1:7 to 13 based on weight and are dissolved together with dye assistants such as KI, boric acid and other and crosslinking agents in water.
