Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A 5-fluorouracil derivative of the formula (Y is SO3, CO2, or SO2).
EXAMPLE: A 5-fluorouracil-m-formylbenzene-sulfonate.
USE: Decomposable into each component in vivo, and with both the physiolgical in actions of 5-fluorouracil and benzaldehyde or its devivative, particularly a carcinostatic. Administrable orally and easily preparable.
PROCESS: 5-Fluorouracil is dissolved in a slightly polar solvent, e.g. benzene, toluene, cyclohexane, or dichloroethane, and reacted with sulfonic, corboxylic or sulfinic acid derivative of formylbenzene to give the objective compound of formula I.
