Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a Doppler radar which can decide the direction by dividing the oscillation output of the microwave via the directional coupler into the transmission wave and the local oscillation power and then switching the phase of either one of the microwaves by the phase switch. CONSTITUTION:Part of the microwaves generated from oscillator 1 is sent to mixer 6 via directional coupler 2, and the other is sent outside through phase switch 3 to be the local oscillation power and the transmission wave each. Now switch 3 is changed to 0 deg. and theta deg. to give a phase comparison between the Doppler signals at 0 deg. and theta deg.. The signal at phi deg. has the phase variation of +theta and -theta to the signal at 0 deg. according to the short or long distance between both signals. This variation is realized in the form of a device. In other words, switch 3 is varied between 0 deg. and theta deg. through the time division and by the signal given from synchronous signal generator 11, and then divided into two channels via gates 13 and 14 to receive the phase comparison at phase comparator 19 through waveform shaping circuits 17 and 18.
