Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the communication by providing the emergency switch in case no idle channel can be caught by the terminal station and thus no communication is possible in an emergency. CONSTITUTION:The holding signal is transmitted previously from the control office via the idle channel to be used for the call given from the control office. At the same time, the idle line signal is transmitted to other idle channels from the control office. At each terminal station, the channels are switched in sequenceevery fixed cycle for scanning, and the scanning is stopped for the holding channel where the holding signal is received to secure the holding state. With reception of the call signal to the self-station via the holding channel, the communication is started with the control office. The calling is given from the terminal office by transmitting the call signal to the control office through the idle channel (to which the idle line signal is transmitted) which is caught first. In case no idle channel can be caught by the terminal office in an emergency, the emergency switch is operated to perform the transmission of the call signal to the control office from the terminal station via the holding channel.
