Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality of transfer image, by providing a member to prevent the cleaning liquid from flowing into the surface of image carrier, in the liquid development transfer method. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum is cleaned by an elastic cleaning blade 201. In order to increase the cleaning efficiency further, a cleaning liquid (or a liquid developer itself may be used, which are commonly called the removing liquid) is supplied from a liquid supply port 202. This removing liquid is discharged to the side of photosensitive drum, and flows down as indicated by the group of arrows, and further falls into a developing means 12 in the lower part to be recovered. In order to prevent this removing liquid from entering the image forming face, liquid guide members 22 are disposed on both ends of the drum 1. The liquid guide members 22 are rotatably supported around a shaft 23, so that entry of the removing liquid into the image forming face may be prevented.
