Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the durability with simplicity and to make the detector useful for medical application for measuring the Welde constants of human serum or blood corpuscle by using a preset magnetic circuit which is composed of two Co magnets of rare earth metal and a yoke. CONSTITUTION:The different polars of cylindrical Co magnets 4 and 7 of rare earth metal, which are formed with a hollow portion and which are axially magnetized, are arranged to face each other, and the asymmetrical opposite electrodes are connected by a yoke 5 thereby to constitute a magnetic circuit. A sample solution 5 is placed in a magnetic gap. A straight polarized light, which is generated by a light source 1 and which has passed through a polarizing glass 2 , passed through an optical path 13, which is composed of the holes 14 and 15 of the yoke 6 and the hollow portions of the magnets 4 and 7. After having passed through the solution 5, the straight light enters a photocell 8 through a polarizing glass 9. The quantity of the incident light is indicated through an amplifier 10 in a meter 11. The rotations of the polarizing plate by the solution 5 can be determined by the scale 16 indicating the angle of rotation of the angle measuring plate 12 jointed to the glass 9 and by the change in the indication of the meter 11.
