Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize blast furnace operation and keep the quality of pig iron at a constant level by removing dust from air supplied to an air heating furnace for a blast furnace, controlling the supplied air constantly at low temperature and low humidity all the year round, and thus always supplying air of constant conditions to the blast furnace.
CONSTITUTION: When it is hot and highly humid in summer, a spray mechanism 8 is connected to an absorbing type refrigerator 13 side through the changeover valve 21 of a dehumdifying and dust removing device 5. Cooling water from a cooling water source 19 is supplied to the spray mechanism 8 and cooling water jets are sprayed into high temperature and high humidity air sucked by a blower 2. The air is cooled, dust is removed from it, moisture in the air is condensed and removed when the moist air is cooled below its dew point. When it is cold and dry in winter, the valve 21 is changed to connect a heating pipe 23 and the spray mechanism 8. Outside air sucked in is humidified to a prescrived value and heated by the spray and dust is removed from the air at the same time: passing a demister 25, the air is supplied to an air heating furnace 3 by the blower 2. By so doing, air of the same conditions is supplied to the air heating furnace all the year round and hot air of the same temperature and the same humidity is supplied also to the tuyere of a blast furnace.
