Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a gravure printing ink composition having moderate adhesivity to plastic films and metal foils, and excellent high speed printability, comprising a film-forming vehicle containing more than specific amount of a low moleculat weight nitrocellulose having a polymerization degree lower than a specific value.
CONSTITUTION: The objective printing ink is prepared by mixing (A) pigment, (B) a solvent, and (C) a film-forming vehicle composed of (a) a resin such as alkyd resin, phenolic resin, melamine resin, acrylic resin, polyamide resin, etc., (b) a plasticizer such as dibutyl phthalate, acetyl tributyl phthalate, etc., and (c) ≥15% of a low molecular weight nitrocellulose having an average polymerization degree of ≤30.
