Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain accurate tracking error signal, by taking the corelativity between the amplitude signal of head reproduced output and the detection signal of the displacement means, in the tracking unit having shifting the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head tracking circuit is constituted with a tape speed detection circuit 12, head shift amount detection circuit 13, flyback voltage forming circuit 14, integrator 15, oscillator 16, and error signal forming circuit 17 as major devices. Further, a magnetic head 5 is fitted on a bimorph plate 7 having a strain gauge 33 and the displacement of the head 5 is detected as the displacement of the bimorph plate 7. With this constitution, the amplitude sample hold signal at the specified position at the horizontal scanning section having almost constant amplitude of the head reproducing output and the output of the means shifting the head boradwise the track are taken for the corelativity. Accordingly, the error signal obtained is not effected from the content of picture resulting in producing very accuracy.
