Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize the photo switch and make the detection of first calls easy by adding the photo detectors which detect the first calls from subscribers to the channel-connecting photo switch which comprises arraying a plurality of photo switches having full mirrors in matrix form. CONSTITUTION:The light signal of the first call from a subscriber 1 is sent to a channel-connecting photo switch 2 past an optical fiber cable 3. At this time, the full mirrors of all the photo switches are down, hence the light signal is directly input to a photo detector 7. The photo detector 7 converts the light signal into an electric signal which is then input to a control circuit 4. Based on this information, the control circuit 4 raises a necessary mirror 5 thereby performing the connnection of the X-row and Y-column. Hence, the first call signal 3 from the subscriber is connected by way of optical fibers 3 and 6 to the exchange of the other station. Thereby, the device may be miniaturized and the detection of the first calls from the subscribers may be done with ease.
